January 2012 Caring Well

Dear Friends of Carewell,

Happy 2012!  I trust you all had wonderful celebrations over the holidays!  And I’m sure you are all excited and upbeat for what this brand new year has in store!  As always, this blog and accompanying photos are available at www.carewellcommunity.org and on our Facebook page: The Carewell Community Foundation.

2011 was quite a busy year for us!  The last couple of months were particularly exciting with our major events including: The Carewell Souk!, A Special Night with Lea, and our 5th anniversary celebration: Carewell Takes 5! headlining our activities for the end of the year.  Thus, our office staff and volunteers all enjoyed a much-deserved break over Christmas and the New Year.

However: January is here and so are some exciting activities!  Starting Tuesday the 17th, our popular Bible Study sessions resume.  Led by Tess Arguelles, the sessions begin at 1pm and will go for about one hour.  Persons with cancer and their loved ones – of any faith – are most welcome to attend.

The bible study session will be followed at around 2pm by freehand sketching classes led by masterful artist, Rollie Rosal.  Artistic talent and experience are NOT necessary!  Just come with a keen interest and desire to learn some new art skills!  All materials will be provided free of charge.

So, what are you waiting for?  A new year is a good time to try some new activities!  Checkout our website, FB page, give us a call, or better yet – drop by and pay us a visit to get a better idea of what we’re all about.

Today, more than ever, Carewell is committed to walking alongside you as you travel your cancer journey.  Whether you are a person with cancer or their loved one, we will provide you with support, education, and most important: hope – as you navigate your voyage in the days to come.

PS – the Carewell staff will be away on a planning session January 30/31 but our office will be open and all scheduled activities will push through on those days.
